My CCJ has been sold to another company

I am hoping someone can offer some advice.

I have a CCJ that I have been paying off at the requested amount per month for several years to Booker Mgmt Services t/a ICF Loans.
The amount is nearly clear leaving approx 100pounds.

I have now received a letter asking that I now pay a company called Apex Credit Mgmt Ltd.

I am worried: 1 - How to I know for certain that I should be making payments to this company - is there a way I can confirm that they now own my debt?
2 - Can a CCJ be sold?
3 - I have made a payment by cheque to Booker mgmt that has not been cashed or allocated to my account before I was informed of this change, what should I do?

As I am nearing the end of my payments I want to make sure that I make my remaining payments to the correct company, can anyone offer any advice?
Many Thanks

  • Have you spoken to anyone from either firm? Start there maybe
  • Hi, I have attempted to speak to Apex but they are asking me to confirm personal details before they will discuss anything with me, which I am unwilling to do until I confirm if they are legitimate and Booker are not answering their phones.
