Converting SA Rand to sterling

Hi,
I found 500 South African rand in one of my old wallets recently, left over from a trip there about 10 years ago.
Where can I go to change it into sterling? A lot of places (eg post office) just seem to do 'buy-back' and I no longer have a receipt....
Thanks in advance...

Anywhere will do it - you don't need a receipt.
The Post Office will do it for one - they don't need a receipt.
This assumes you go to a branch that has a BdeC - if you go to a branch that does pre-order only, then they will want a receipt, yes
And other places may do it for reduced/no commission/a better exchange rate with a receipt - but they won't refuse outright.
Your main worry is if SA have replaced their notes in the last 10 years. No idea if they have but that WILL be a problem.0
