Provident loan help
Hi here,
I was looking at credit cards to apply for on the internet for people with bad credit ratings and I applied for a provident card. It said that I was accepted in principle.
However, what I didn't realise was that they are going to be calling at my house to discuss this and then to collect payments.
I aven't been accepted yet, but I don't want people coming to my home at all.
Am I bound by my online application? Can I cancel this somehow?
Please help

Sure someone with more knowledge will give good advice but I'd call them in the morning and say no thanks. It doesn't sound like a credit card more like a standard provi loan0

Thanks.
Just wondered if I was bound to the agreement.0 -
I don't think that you are as you haven't been formally accepted0

I think they said that they only accept you after meeting an agent.
I just wanted a credit card, didn't say on the application that agents would be coming to your door for weekly payments-only after I sent the application off. Then I looked closer at the website and it does say that.
Crikey0 -
Have you tried for either a Vanquis, Capital One Classic or Barclaycard Initial card.
All of these are for people wanted to repair bad credit.
Obviously you might not still be accepted, but they work like a standard credit card, but with a higher interest rate.0 -
Can you post the link to the site?0

Thanks i might do that.
Do you know if I am able to cancle this though?
I live with my parents still and they would go mad if people loaning money came to the door0 -

It says the online application is a decision in principle-not sure what that means, then an agent will call round to seal the deal it sounds like0

You'll have to ring them up and tell them you wish to cancel the application. Or they will call you to arrange a visit and you can tell them then.
This thread is all about cards etc, for people with bad credit who want to rebuild and repair their credit rating. I would post to the thread with your situation and ask which you are most likely to be accepted for.

If you get a card you really need to use it responsibly otherwise you will definately be unable to get credit at all in the future.0
