the computer is windows xp on sp3. amd sempron 1.6ghz with 768mb ram
the problem is the 'raid controller' which does not load the driver- it says driver not found. Is this important to load the driver an the computer is working nicely at the moment?
also under computer -> properties the processor is showing as AMD hammer family processor model unknown- can i/do i need to update this?

- an unused raid controller is just that - unused - and does not need a driver - cos its not used !
- - if it bothers you right click it in the / device manager, and click the box saying ' do not use this device
- - - and the yellow exclamation mark will disappear.
- the AMD hammer question, as RIK says forget it, a BIOS flash is risky and you will gain no benefit.
- - if it works don't fix it !
Hope this helpsDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. If you paid for two hard drives and RAID when you bought the computer and intended to use it as backup, then you should definitely do something about it! No good having safety features you need and not having them functioning, especially if it cost you more.
Of course, if you have no idea what RAID is and you're backing up in some other way, leave it, it won't kill anything.0
