Error 1402 could not open key ??

hi all ,
I hope you can help me solve this problem . I am trying to update Adobe reader 9.2 but it keeps saying this meassage :

Error 1402 could not read key .
Hkey-local-machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run\optional components\MSFS

Verify that you have sufficient access tp that key or contact your personnal support .


ive looked up the error in mirosoft help anf followered there advice but come to a dead end . what do i do . ive tried uninstalling adobe to start again but it wont uninstall the same error come up .

Do any of the "more solutions" section of this page at Adobe help at all?

ive tried all the suggested help from the link you gave none of them have solved the problem . infact i have MORE popups now rundll32.exe warning (what ever that is ) and unresponsive script. CFS script writted wrong. i have NO idea how to solve any of these .

please help

I would suggest ditching Adobe and installing Foxit Reader which is also free.

Adobe takes up too much memory and there have been serious questions over its security.

I have used Foxit Reader for some time now and never had a problem

Seconding this. Foxit is fantastic and Adobe is full of security flaws.

the problem is i cant get rid of adobe it wont uninstall ???

Download free version of Revo. That should do it.

hi all thankyou for your help and advice . ive had to take my p.c to the shop to be mended i couldnt even switch it on in the end . the bloke from the shop rang me after running a diagnostic on it and said my windows is corupt.:eek:
