Philips DVD recorder for £58.74 inc vat.

I've got one, with the latest firmware installed and it's still pants.
I paid 85 quid for it a couple of years ago at a catalogue clearance place, and flogged my DVD and Video. Worst move I ever made.
Lets put it this way - the remote has been missing for a week and I can't be bothered looking for it.

OK I've had my rant - Actually it's fine for recording - just the worst 'player' it has been my misfortune to own - so if you've got another player ( I ended up buying a cheapo to play mine on) it's passable.

This is a good machine so don't let all the doom and gloomers put you off.

There were problems with the earlier Philips DVD recorder models, DVDR880/890 DVDR1000, DVDR70/75/80, and these all suffered from the 'No Disc' error after a few months of use. I should know, as mine failed 3 times !!!

The DVDR610 is fine. I have one, unlike all the doom mongers on here.

I did however see one in Comet for £35 with no remote, but a remote can be picked up on eBay easily.

In summary the DVDR610 is a very good recorder.

The only BAD point of this offer is MicroDirect, and I would never buy anything from them !!
