Advice on Credit card balance transfers

I have a store card with a high interest rate I applied for a 0% Barclays card so that I could transfer the debt £2000. I was accepted and given the card but they wouldn't let me transfer the balance as it was a Santander balance. Does anyone know the reason for this? and if I was to apply for a different card would I be told the same from other companies?
Many Thanks

Few things, but I guess only Barclaycard can give you a definate answer.
1/ Which card did you get?
2/ Can you can definately transfer from a storecard to a Barclaycard? Sorry I don't know, hopefully someone else will.
3/ Are you trying to transfer more than 90% of your limit?
4/ They can of course just refuse as per their T&C's.0 -
Not heard of that happening before.
Usually its only that you cannot move debt from one card to another by the same bank so say from a debenhams santander card to a santander credit card.
Did you try to do the transfer by phone? Is there an online option for BTs? I wonder if it might go through if you did it online?
Aside from that I suppose all you can do is ask whether there are any restrictions on BTs at the time of application if you did apply for another card.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
One thing I forgot to say as well, you only have a certain amount of time after getting the card to do transfers.0
