in Cutting tax
Hi all,
I am self employed and have recently upped my workload from part-time to full -time so this years tax return is going to look very different from last years! (turnover will leap from about 12k to 30k)
Will this automatically trigger an investigation?

In short no, or at least not necessarily. If the situation was reversed it would be more likely.
In all but exceptional cases HMRC open an aspect enquiry first, which will involve them looking at an area or areas which they have concerns over.
Use the additional information part of your SE pages to explain in brief reason for change, that should save any likely hassle.0
