Credit Card Advice

I am a newbie and was after some advice if possible.

Back in 2004 I entered into a payment plan with Payplan. As a reesult of this the two credit cards and one loan I put into the plan has had some detrimental effects on my credit file.

A defualt was placed on one of the credit cards and arrangements to pay on the other one and the loan. All of these went on my file in Feb 2007.

However, I have since obtained three credit cards since this "hiccup" back in 2004. One was with littlewoods and I have paid that off and closed it, another with Capital One with a credit limit of £1500 and a balance of £1400 and finally one with Barclaycard, recently my limit was £900, since March I have decided to start paying off these balances rather than just paying off the minimum each month. I only owe £330 on my Barclaycard now and in the last 2 weeks they have raise my limit fom £900 to £1900.

Next month I will pay off the Barclaycard completely and use it once a month and pay in off in full the next to boost my credit rating as much as poss, I plan to do this for the next 6 months. But Ideally I would like to apply for a prime credit card with a 0% apr on balance transfers to transfer what I owe on my Cap One card to stop me paying as much interest as what I am currently.

What do you think my chances are of obtaining one with these things on my file, my credit rating is 900 with Experian, although I have read that these don't really mean anything at all.

Any advice anyone can give me would be greatly recieved.
