Cheapest bank for international bank draft

The Canadian Embassy wants my Polish girlfriend to jump through hoops to get a visa to visit for a week. One criterion is that payment must be made in Canadian Dollars by International Bank Draft, which must clear on a bank in Canada.

Barclays quotes £25 for this, making the cost of the CAD75 (=£35) visa extornionate.

I've only ever bought one bankers draft before and that was through onlinefx.co.uk - an online money transfer company, the rate was a lot better than my bank (Lloyds TSB) and as oppossed to the 25 pounds they only charged £15. I now regularly transfer money abroad electronically through justeuros.co.uk, not sure if they do bank drafts but may be worth askin as their rates are good (they do offer to beat alternative quotes foreign transfer so may be worth askin at least!!).

As an alternative you could probably try the post office moneygram service, though i dont think the rates are as good, but i guess it gives you peace of mind in not trusting some online company etc!! That said the two Ive suggested are tried and tested, there are many others online to research for a bargain too!! I always say shop about!!
