RYANAIR and annoying Card Charges - Trying to use prepaid online Mastercard

I am trying to purchase 2 adult one way flights in August but do not want to use my debit card as i do not want to be charged £5 per person just to pay for flight tickets. So i went a go myself an online Mastercard Pre Paid Card with Neteller to try and get past these silly fees.

I signed up to the card and funded it and tried to buy the ticket with the card details provided online about 10 times now from last night to now and still it comes up with this message from the Ryanair website

Payment Error
Your card payment could not be processed because of one of the following reasons:

1. You have mistyped the card number or missed out some of the digits. Please go back to the previous (Payment) page and re-enter the card number again.
2. The card type you have specified (e.g. Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron) does not match the card number supplied. Please go back to the previous (Payment) page and check that the card type selected is correct.
3. You have incorrectly entered the Card Number into the Cardholders Name box. Please go back to the previous (Payment) page and re-enter the Card Number in the correct box.
4. You have incorrectly entered the Cardholders Name into the Card Number box. Please go back to the previous (Payment) page and re-enter the Cardholders Name in the correct box.

I am starting to get very :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: with it! Just to buy some tickets!


Help asap would be fantastic to see why this is happening. If someone can buy these tickets for me using a prepaid master card that would be great as i am getting very annoyed with both sites!

First things first, which prepaid Mastercard do you have?

The Neteller Virtual Mastercard or the Neteller Net+ Prepaid Mastercard?

Don't shoot the messenger - it's a common confusion - only the latter works on ryanair.com

(edit: I use the Neteller Net+ Prepaid Mastercard almost weekly... very rarely does it not go through first time)

AFAIK, the Neteller virtual card never did and still does not work. I am guessing that may be what you have been trying to use? If so, you need to extend your account (online) with Neteller to apply for and get them to send you a physical "Net+" card.

Apologies if you are indeed trying to use a physical Net+ card.

It sounds like of the two Neteller cards, you have the wrong one. Sorry. For reasons unknown (and it's an ongoing thing) the virtual Mastercard numbers that Neteller generate never get accepted as prepaid Mastercard numbers on ryanair.com

I'm afraid you need to go through the lengthier process of getting the physical Net+ card.

Yeah i have the online Neteller card which i was trying to use for the purchase of the Ryanair tickets! Very frustrating that they charge you to pay for tickets!

How long would it take to get a physical card through the post? Needing to book tickets for 25th August 2 seats as there are only 4 seats left!

Unfortunately, the Net+ virtual prepaid card is currently not recognized by Ryanair as a prepaid card, as it is incorrectly designated by our card issuer. We are working to get this problem resolved as soon as possible. Rest assured, the Net+ Chip & PIN prepaid card is properly designated and will work when booking with Ryanair.

Took me about a week. You may have to scan in or post a photocopy of photo ID to complete the application, which may slow it down.
