Trouble with Air India

Hi,
I want to change my flight dates with Air India. After finally getting through to someone at the call centre they told me to do it online. No one has replied to my 5 emails or the online feedback form on their website. The people I then reached at the call centre told me it is not their problem. I have since heard that Air India are notoriously difficult to contact and have terrible customer service.

Will I be able to change my returning flight at the Air India desk at Heathrow (when I check in to leave)? Or as a last resort, at the Air India office in Delhi?

I really don't want to leave it until then (and am concerned that they,too, will tell me to do it online) but as no one will respond I seem to have no choice.

Has anyone had this problem with Air India?
