Decent price but this is used and if I'm not mistaken RM machines tend to be used in schools, so may have had a lot of use by kids. Just a thought.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

Well its ok if you dont have a pc or need a cheap one for your kid or rarely use a PC and just want for internet stuff ...but for 200 quid I guess you get a complete computer which works.
..just dont buy that imho if you want to play games or do some serious things with your computer

It's not significantly better :-
Dell has a P4 3.0Ghz against a P4 2.6Ghz, ok, that's 1 up to Dell
Dell has 512MB Ram against 1024MB - 1 up to the RM Machine
Dell has integrated graphics against MX440 8 x AGP with 64MB Graphice Ram - Dell is now behind the RM machine
Dell has 80GB HDD vs 40GB HDD - back to even stevens...
but £199 (ok, another £6 for a keyboard mouse etc) against £349????
On a money saving site???
The RM machine will be faster through the memory and graphics, the Dell has a slightly faster processor and a bigger hard drive.
And once you take the Dell machine out of the box it's 2nd hand and worth about the same as the RM machine.0 -
This is a superb bargain. School machines are used a maximum of 5 hours a day for 39 weeks a year, though this is a maximum which would rarely be met, most schools would use them for about half this time. The spec suggests that they would have been part of a school's computer suite where there would be total supervision, good virus protection and no drinks, food allowed and the machines would have been maintained to a high standard. Spec also suggests that they would be no older than 2 years (3 at a push).
Compare this to home use where the pc could have been running 24/7.
We have no need for a further machine at home yet I'm finding it hard to resist reaching for the credit card. Proper bargain.Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0 -
a definite bargain, no doubtSave saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
Great price for anyone who needs a good pc. P4 2.6 Ghz is the real deal, not that cheap slow celeron.0

Trust me, with the best supervision in the world school computers still get trashed in record time :rotfl:
However, I would kill to work in any school which is throwing out computers of this spec! I suspect they come from elsewhere :T0
