Sky TV, phone and Internet for 30.00 per month

Hey All,
I have an installation booked for Sky TV and the phone etc next Monday, I am taking up their all in Package. I cannot get Virgin in my area, mainly because I live in block of apartments - I have tried. So, Sky and BT are my only options. They have a cancellation policy of 30 days from date of Installation and I am thinking of doing something really cheeky. The set up and installation is free of charge - and I am thinking of getting it done and then cancelling the subscription within the first 30 days. I am not too fussed with telephone or internet, because I link my mobile phone to my computer as a modem for internet access and I use my mobile phone, which has free minutes, for calls too. All I am interested in are the free to air channels, that I can't get on freeview, but can through sky. I currently have a freeview box. When I asked the assistant on the phone whether I will get the freeview channels, if i decide to cancel within 30 days, she just said that they come and take the equipment back....
Do they actually physically come and do this?? I have heard that technically they should but don't. Is this true?
Thanks in advance!

Why is BT your 'only option' other than Sky or VM? There are dozens of other phone and broadband providers available to you.

Hey Macman, I can have Sky, but Skys telephone package is done thru BT anyway - Virgin Media is available in my area, but not in my block of Apartments, because apparently there isn't enough 'room' for them to install the cabling. I have called virgin and I cannot get it because of the building I live in and all other telephone companies are cable (? - I might be wrong?) so thats why BT is my only option, if i want a telephone service.0 -
Yes, BT OpenReach maintains the local loop, but you can place your contract with BT Retail or any other telecoms company you like. BT Retail's commercial relationship with BT OpenReach is no different to any other telecoms company. If you choose an LLU supplier then your calls will not go via BT but via your provider's own network beyond the exchange. So BT is not your only option-it's just one of the most expensive and worst ones.No free lunch, and no free laptop

sky does take its equipment back0

Yes they will normally arrange a de-installation to recover the equipment. This saves you being charged any early termination charges which normally cover the cost of the equipment, which is subsidised on the basis of you staying with them for the term of the contract.0

When its a communal dish you may find that they don't take it back since they didn't install it, the communal dish firm did.0
