5% cashback with American Express CC

I applied for this card in June and noticed online that the cashback was calculated at 2.9% and not the 5% offered. Today I have just dowload my statement and the cashback has gone down to 1.9%. I have emailed them and they are looking into it. Has this happened to anyone else?

The cashback is tiered.
It's 5% for the first £2K in the first 3 months.
It's 0.5% for the first £3.5K otherwise.

Also pennies are not included only full £s.

Do you not have access to it on your on-line statement?
I have access the cashback amount to every transaction.
Have you looked at this online?

I've got the same problem - recently got the Amex CC with 5% and noticed that all transactions were earning cashback at 3%. Mailed Amex who said it would be fixed when my first statement was produced, which is wasn't. I now await a response from their technical team as the account may be set up incorrectly. Seems odd.

I well below £2k spend and have only had it a month. I got it via quidco but they also advertised it as 5% cashback for first 3 months.

I would suggest you check the sums add up if you recently got one of these cards.

I have the opposite "problem"

Currently my cashback is at £109 (so past £100 limit) and I'm still receiving bonus (5%).

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Amex website says: "5% cashback in first 3 months up to £100"

Yes I had it happen too.
I expect it will stop soon.

You also might find you don't get quite as much as you expect if there are errors in what's shown.

Mine has now been fixed - and they have topped up my cashback award to what should have been earned.
