  • What a pain this must be for you! In that case an e-mail is a good idea. Personally, I would still send them something by Royal Mail Special Delivery as well since then you have proof they received it (as the whole things looks like it might not be resolved amicably). You could send the same thing by e-mail in advance. That way, you can demonstrate you have done everything you could to minimize the damage and to give them as much time as possible to sort things out. Remember you need to set them a clear deadline.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I will send them something by post since they seem to ignore email

Good old NetFlights again, they screwed my booking up and I only found out when like you I went to reserve a seat, I was some what lucky in that I could have travelled at any time so if they didn't get me on my original flights I could go sooner or later but I refused to pay any extra and would have gone to the credit card company told them the payment was in dispute and quoted section 75 of the credit act.

I would suggest you talk to ABTA, whose phone number I can't find at the moment.

When I had a problem they listened to my complaint, opened a case number and I was going to send in the documentation.

However, the mention of an ABTA case number to my travel agent seemed to concentrate their minds and a solution was soon found!!

    Good luck.

If you booked through netflights you should have an invoice reference number, go to http://www.netflights.com/check-booking.aspx , Type in the reference and your surname, where you will be able to pull up your invoice. On the invoice is your airlines PNR (under the heading Booking Reference) which you should be able to make a note of and contact the airline and prebook seats with directly with them, which airline are you travelling with? Bear in mind not all airlines will allow you to pre book seats, especially if the trip is quite far away, some have time restrictions also.

Once you find the airlines booking reference (PNR) it should be 5/6 characters long you can also check your reservation using https://www.checkmytrip.com/ , where you can print a copy of your e-ticket if it has been issued.
    Hope this helps.

just managed to sort it out with them after being on the phone for 1 hour. they dont seem to know what happened but i said if they had just responded and let me know what was happening instead of claiming they had no knowledge of the booking it would have helped. i really thought i had booked with a fake company when they denied knowledge of the booking.

Moonchild it's good to get to know how the wheels of the travel industry grind behind the scenes.

Same thing happened to me when I rang Thai Airways for seating allocation and they had no booking in our names. But they did say that we had been booked, but as the agent hadn't paid the deposit within 7 days, the booking dropped out of their system. I was really cross as I'd paid the deposit.

I rang the agent and it was rectified immediately.
