Isn't that some form of discrimination? If you were American (I hope you aren't, sorry if you are!!) you could sue them for that!!0 -

:rotfl: No I'm not American Lol
Just really starting to give up on surveys, going to try and get up to the payout threshold for each of them and then might forget about them for a while.
Glad you got in touch with the loans people El, helps to have a figure to start with eh?VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Morning everyone! Another wet and dreary day today in Scotland - suprise suprise!

I feel like I'm am non stop spending at the moment. I had to go to Morrisons after work yesterday as our fridge was empty, had £25 in my purse and the shopping came to £26.42  I hate it when that happens. Anyway it didn't matter too much as I was needing petrol this morning so used £20 for that and still have £5 of which £3 will be used at puppy training tonight.
Also paid my car insurance last night, quite sad to see the savings drop to £50, but I suppose that's what I had saved for in the first place!
I think I have decided that I will be setting up a payment of £25 a month to my student loan (on top of the £26 that comes from my wages). So I'll be paying a mimimum of £51 off the loan a month, but hope to pay more some months too.
I'm also going to start putting £10 a month aside, my sister is getting married next August and the hotel is costing £75  so I figured by putting that money away I will have the room paid and some left over towards a present.
Payday is 2 weeks tomorrow, but I'm also due roughly £90 in fuel expenses too, so might pop that against the loan too...VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Everyday seems to cost me money too, bread or milk etc etc, why can't food be free?!
£51 a month of your loan is good going and like you say you can always pay extra if you want.
Raining here too, I'm right down south on the Isle of Wight.
Roll on payday . . . .0 -
Thanks MustStopSpending, the idea is to try and get it paid off asap, I want to start putting money away for things that might happen in the future. I would love to build up savings of a few month's salary at least.
We are quite fortunate that the house we 'rent' is owned by OH's parents, so we are effectively paying the mortgage through them as they have told OH that the house will be his in the end anyway (although we try to ignore this and don't want to assume anything as you never know what could happen). This means that we can do whatever we like to the house (decorating, gardening etc) and they don't mind.
We have been in the house since last January and have so far redecorated all of downstairs. Next on the list is the bedroom, which I would like to get done soon...VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
i llike the idea of renting and being able to do things that you want .... yep it sure helps having a starting point ...
i try and put £150 a month into another account to pay for car insurance house insurance t.v license car repairs etc ... i usually can lift roughly £600 a year also which tends to come in handy when i am skint some months ... not sure if that idea would work for you though ... but it might be worth thinking about ... i know i no longer worry about insurances (unless of course i am trying to get money from them for my burglary ) so it leaves me more thinking space for other things0
