Holidaying in Australia - spending money?

I'm off to Australia in the autumn for a holiday and am looking into how to take my spending money. The more I read, the more confused I get.
So far, I understand the Fair FX card to be the best choice. At first I thought it was only for Euro and USA dollars, but spotted that the anywhere card can be used worldwide.
As I don't work (full-time mum) I don't have earnings to allow me to apply for the post-office credit card which was stated somewhere as a good choice.
I feel that I'm going round in circles. Can anyone help me and steer me in the right direction.
