What's the cheapest annual card safe deal ?

I've just received the annual Card Safe renewal from Marks&Spencer to protect all our credit/debit cards if lost or stolen by making one phone call. The Joint policy covers 3 years and the total cost is £55

Is this good value? or are there cheaper options on the market?

Hi Veronica and welcome to the forums.

No it is not a very good deal. If you want such a policy look at the two main companies direct (my guess is that M&S will be using one of them anyway).
    CPP: http://www.cpp.co.uk/
    Sentinel: call 0800 414717

You should be able to knock about £10 off that price.

But do you really need it? All you need to do is write down the telephone numbers to call if your cards are lost and keep it somewhere safe. That's all they are doing. Promises of covering you for fraud are largely meaningless as almost all of it is covered by the credit card companies anyway.

I quite liked the extra emergency travel insurance included in the CPP policy (though not in any way a replacement for proper travel insurance) but that alone wasn't enough to stop me canceling my policy.
