What kind of things do you like?
All of the museums are very good. I love Tate Modern, it's next to Shakespeares Globe and opposite St Pauls cathederal. You can get a boat outside there to various places along the river, Hampton Court is very good. Covent Garden is always fun, lots of restaurants, shops and street entertainers. Buckingham Palace is open at the moment. London Walks have loads of walks in friendly groups all over the city, I loved the Jack the Ripper one and they are just £6.

Hope that this helps a bit.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
Get a BIG BUS ticket £20 each and you get to go around London in a day and see all the sights. You can get off and get back on again however many times you want so get to see all the usual sights without having to work out where everything is and get tubes everywhere. IMO it really helps to get your bearings and you don't have to do anything, just sit there and listen to the audio commentary (through earphones).
Go to the museums but go early (I think they open at 10am) as they're a lot less busy.
Go to see a show, you might get a discount for one seatJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
There is so much to do for free too... Museum of London is a goody...

Go on the Eye - we went last week. I left booking (online) until a couple of hours before we went knowing that there was a lovely blue sky. The view of London is stunning and booking online gives you a 10% discount too. Choosing an early evening 'flight' is great for photography. In our 'pod' there were lots of chatty people and we had a great time.
All along the South Bank were various 'acts', and you can easily spend an hour wandering along watching and listening, some were very good. These of course were all free.
If you're into art, then a visit to The National Gallery is a must - they do have an evening when they're open later, and it's much less crowded. This is free too, and if you're on your own you can really enjoy exactly what you like.
What I would avoid - for the rest of my life - is Oxford Street. Exactly the same clothes as in my small local town - just more of them and surrounded by more people!0 -
Buy a 7 day bus pass from many newsagents.£13.50 and you can use any London bus during your stay. You see a lot more compared to going by tube eveywhere.0

London Aquarium is good. It's right behind the London Eye. Greenwich is also nice and I also like Romford for shopping.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
