I am planning a holiday in the October half term and haven't actually booked a package hol in a while. I was wondering whether I should just plan to spend a few hours in a travel agent seeing what was around, or whether it is better to look online.
I want somewhere warm, minimum 4 * and it must be for October half term holidays and I was thinking of the Canary Isles.

You may get a last minute deal at a decent price but youve left it a bit late for "planning" - October HT is only 6 weeks away!
Check prices online as these will be tour opps best deals available and you can be sure to search the WHOLE market as it is you who will be doing it!
Id also check flights ,seperate accom etc . May be a saving. Use Credit Card to book for extra protection. Or give TRAVELMAN or BARRON your details and prices. They may be able to wrap your self package up in an ATOL/ABTA wrapping for extra protection (small fee possibly)0 -
If you book direct, you might not be covered on travel insurance if it then turns out you can not go...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200

I know, I always leave it late which is why I don't bother with brochures, I just tend to look at what's left and go from there.
Thanks all for the advice.
