Do I open an account before I go BR?

I have read on here that some people are saying you should open a new account before I go bankrupt and others have said to leave it just after? Also my credit rating now is shot to pieces now thanks to HSBC! So am I likely to get one at all? Which one (if I can get one) would anybody recommend?

The coop cashminder or barclays basic accounts are the only accounts that are BR friendly. I personally have both, opened the coop on via the phone 10 weeks before going BR. Also opened a barclays one post BR as I owed them money when going BR.
