Sun Newspaper cheap holiday helpline query

Hello, not sure if this is the correct place to post as it is connected to holidays, but more to do with the helpline.

i have sent off for the Sun newspaper holiday deal (you know the one, get a week away for £50-ish).
The cheque has been cashed, but I've received no confirmation or details.
The small print in the Sun states to phone 0870 1253344 if no confirmation has been received by 23rd August 2006.

Well, try the number(!) - phone before 9am or after 5pm and you get a answerphone stating the office has closed.
Phone between 9 & 5 and the number is engaged - Constantly!!!

My wife has been trying this number for the past 3 days and every time it's engaged!
I tried phoning at 08:59 this am (Thurs 31/8/06) and got the answerphone.
I phoned dead-on 09:00 and got an engaged tone!
Ring-back (pressing 5) does not work - "ringback not accepted!"

(the sun holiday website is next to useless - if you haven't received anything, please call this number, it cheerily states!!!

I cannot believe this is a scam, not by the Sun.

Anyone have any ideas of offer (constructive) advice?

Don't worry - after exhaustive & furious dialling I got through....into a queue!!!

Anyway it's all been sorted now!

how long did you wait in the queue for? i have been having the same problem getting though aswell

careym, Well, once i actually got through, I only had to wait a minute or two - the disconcerting thing was that after the "you're in a queue" message, the line goes silent, no music!

If you've booked for October onwards, don't fret as the operater told me that all October's bookings were being sent out nowish!

I have been collecting for a similar offer in The Daily Express.

We are supposed to hear by 1st September. So far nothing!
