Joint mortgage with bankrupt killing my credit?

Hello there, sorry if this becomes a long post!

i had an IVA Nov 2003 which is fully finished now

Today I checked my credit reference and finally all the incorrect defaults are removed. Experian gave me a credit score of 999 and excellent. Equifax is showing as clear.

I applied for an MBNA card today to try and sort out my credit cards, as Vanquis is obviously high APR and was refused. A "light check" from barclaycard also turned me down flat.

now i did have a barclaycard as part of my IVA so maybe this is why Barclays say no? But as far as I can see my credit reference is perfect but i can't get credit (I also wanted a car but now am not sure that will happen)

I have a Vanquis card that I have had for over a year and am on a joint mortgage.

My ex-partner is bankrupt and he is on the joint mortgage. Trying to get the house back is a whole other story but is this why I am not getting credit? And if so how can i get him unlinked from my reference? I cannot get a mortgage as the house is neg equity but I am liable for all the debts so why is he even showing as having the mortgage?

Any help gratefully received as i am at the end of my tether now.

i'm sure with Experian there is a form you complete online to disassociate yourself from someone, have a look on their website. i did this with my ex, it was straightforward

are you on the electoral roll?

IVA completed early, can't remember exactly when but a couple of years ago. Have found about notice of disaccociation. have been living apart > 6 months so looks like this could be possible

It will still be affecting your credit as well as the association to a bankrupt as it is a form of insolvency and some look at it as bad as bankruptcy.

I didn't think you could apply for a financial disassociation if you have a joint mortgage? as you are financially associated as long as you have the mortgage together.

There is nothing about the IVA on my reference as it was removed. But the link is the issue. But it seems as I have been living apart for the last 9 months and no other links that i can do the disaccociation as mentioned. So hopefully this will help

Suggest that you do a SAR request to National Hunter:

Can you provide a link to the living apart for 9 months?

I was under the impression that as long as a bankrupt was on the mortgage deeds then the disassociation could not be done. I thought you had to get any interest off the OR then be removed from the deeds.

Can I get my former partner's details removed from my report if we share a joint account?
Because you have a current financial connection, the details relating to your partner remain on your report until all joint financial commitments have ended. You can, however, add a short explanatory statement to your report (explaining the details or circumstances around the connection). This is called a 'Notice of Correction'.

However, if the only financial connection you have is a joint mortgage, we may be able to create a disassociation between you and your ex-partner. If you no longer share an address please contact us in writing to explain the circumstances and we will consider your request.
I'm separated from my partner. Can our finances be separated?
We may be able to remove their information from your credit report, providing you have been living apart for six months or more.

We may need additional information along with your financial connections questionnaire.
