hey guys, am looking for a birthday present for my mate, he will be 20 next week, hate to sound tight but not too dear as i am skint.
was thinking of buying him some 'beer to dine for' from home bargains at 99p a bottle (buy him about 4 bottles, he will think i paid about £11 quid at tesco), also need a back up plan incase hb don't have any.
thought of beer (posh stuff, he drinks but doesn't go over the top) or beer gift set?
any better ideas or suggestions?

Young men are so hard to buy for, I have a son and a nephew both almost 21 and Christmas and birthdays have been a nightmare for ages.
Beer is good, does he like music or films? CD or DVD from the supermarket, or have a look in the pound shop, they have some stuff that looks like it costs a lot more ( amongst stuff you couldn't give away) car stuff(?) cd cases. Depends what he likes really but I am sure he will appreciate your gift and the thought that has gone into it.0 -
they aren't that bad as a rule- its just him!!! i am 25 btw
he likes music and films but i don't know what he has got, he has a car (ford fiesta), would be difficult getting him something from the local supermarket- he works there!!!!
i have the patience for poundland/home bargains type places but he doesn't know that, he was surprised the other week when i looked at clothes on the sale rail at h and m (would never go in poundland or similar if he was there).
have also inlisted the help of my best mates (both of whom know him), they have same problemthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
