London Eye - any suggestions?

Me and the OH have to work in London Thursday and Friday next week, and we'll stay for Saturday too. We should be through by about 3pm each day (sat free). I'd like to fly the Eye, what's the best (cost effective) way, and time of day. We both have queues, so I'll pay to beat them!

His birthday is soon, so I want to treat him to something special - any ideas?

    Hi researcher

I notice that Lastminute.com are offering a flight on the Eye, plus up to 25% off the London Eye River Cruise Experience. Hope this link works. It says you can upgrade and get a glass of champagne included - might be nice as a birthday treat.

Seeing London from the vantage point of the Eye and river I think gives you a good insight to the city. Especially since the river has been so important in London's history.

I'd say the weekday evening flights are probably a bit less busy - and I notice with this deal, since you finish at 3pm, you could book the cruise for 5.45pm, flight at 7pm, leaving you time for dinner afterwards?

HTH, and hope you enjoy your stay!

  • My hubby and I went on the London Eye last year and as we were only in London for a short time -and did not want to queue -we paid for a 'priority pass (can't remember the exact name).
Definitely worth every penny. We were taken to the front of the queue and felt like royaltly as we walked past the queues!
I would recommend one of these
