hi sidewinder have you checked to see if your school sell any?
my daughter is starting her gcse year too and her school sell the english and maths ones at reduced prices.0 -
i was going to suggest going to your school as well as i got some for my son plus if you get the school books it covers everything you need to know
I bought an ICT book from wh smiths as my son was doing the subject and it didnt cover a lot of what he needed so i asked in the school and got quite a lot of books in a lot of subjects for £3 each0 -
WHSmith currently have Revision Books Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price

Amazon have money off most of the revision books compared with what you pay in the shops.
Or as said before ask at your school. If your school order the CGP books they get them for £2.25 compared with £4.50 that you would pay in the shops.0 -
waterstones usually do 3 for 2 on all GCSE kinda GCP revision guides0

You could have a look at Amazon marketplace (or eBay) as a lot of people will be selling theirs from last year.0 -
asking the sixth formers in your school is always a cheap way to get the books, as they probably still have them laying around at home.~Diminutive0

If you have some books you don't wantyou could swap them on www.readitswapit.co.uk. I got some off there and they are fine- it only costs you the postage for your book. However, i would advise you to get as recent ones as you can as some courses have changed recently- most science courses completely this year and all courses a bit over time. That is most crucial for the example papers bit of the book.0

Try looking on your local freecycle, quite a few have been offered on London freecycle for example, and now that the results are out people will be looking to clear out. You could even try posting a 'wanted'. See the following webpage for the UK groups:

Good luck with your courses!"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience." Anon.0 -
thanks to all of you, im going to ask my school first before going out to buy them from the shops or online.0
