Travel to Disneyland

As some of you already know, I'm going to Disneyland Paris (as its now known apparently) soon and flying in to Charles de Gaulle airport. It appears that there are several ways to get to the resort namely private taxi (too £££), RER train and VEA shuttle (bus I think). One of cheapest looks to be the RER train on which I'm told on various sites to get the red 'A' train and get off at the last stop which is the resort however looking at the route map for the RER on the disney site it appears that only blue 'B' trains travel from Charles de Gaulle. Can anyone out there confirm that I'd have to catch a blue 'B' train from the airport into the centre of Paris and then jump on a red 'A' train to resort? I'd really like to be organised about this as I'll have a young child with me and don't want to be wandering around Paris late at night looking for trains etc. Also - do I buy the ticket as I get there?

As the resident Parisien, yes you are correct but it will take around an hour using that route and if you change at Sh*talet Les Helles then it's not a pleasant place to be. After 21.00 AVOID and if you arrive in rush hour, also avoid as the crowds can be intense.
You can catch a TGV and a bus but I don't have the details. Other threads on the Travel board can assist you if you search for Disneyland Paris.
You can't get on the RER trains unless you buy a ticket first. Not strictly true but you will be done for fare evasion if you don't, as you've had to leap over an automatic barrier!!!0 -
Hi there, to be honest with you, as someone who had never travelled abroad with her children before i found the Disney bus really easy. It went from outside the airport terminal (i think it picks up from more than one terminal) and you can just get on and pay the driver and sit back and relax until it drops you outside your hotel. - No hassle - The thought of catching trains (especially as i don't speak French) was too worrying for me - I'm sure i printed the bus timetable off the net before i went, i think it was off a Disneyland website and i can't quite remember how much the bus costs but there was 6 of us in all. I hope this helps. Have a great time!! I'm sure you will love it.0

Thanks for that - I think the bus then is gonna be my best bet after all.0

I've emailed the VEA shuttle people and they've suggested I get a private taxi transfer when returning to the airport after my holiday as the first shuttle doesn't quite leave early enough for us. Does anyone know of a reputable taxi company that I could pre-book my return taxi to Charles de Gaulle with? Preferably one thats fairly cheap. I don't want to get the hotel to call us a cab on the day of departure as we'll no doubt get ripped off!0

All taxi prices are the same in Paris (Ile de France). If you pre-book you may be charged the fare from base to the Hotel so the meter would be on €XX before you even set off!
Just make sure that the meter is on near enough zero, the zone is correct (each cab has an explanation of the zones used) and the zone is changed at the right time by the driver. TBH, 99% of drivers are honest and I've been undercharged more often than overcharged.0
