Studio catalogue, HELP!

I got my studio catalogue statement this morning, they say I missed last months payment (I didnt receive a statement last month) and have added a £20 admin charge. My balance was only £28 and now its gone up to £48 with the charge. How unfair!! Should I challenge them? How could I pay it if I didnt get a statement.

  • Hi Sam,

I had something similar to this once with a CC but when I called to argue that the statement never arrived they just said that they had posted it and it must have been lost in the post

They also said that it was up to me to remember when my statements were due

I now track all my accounts online so that they can't use the lost in post excuse again.

I do have problems with my post, but it really sucks that it should cost me 20 quid because of Royal Mails poor service

I had this with littlewoods a few years ago had a horrible letter threatening all sorts really over the top, they wouldn't budge, said it was sent and it was up to me to call them if it never arrived.

I would try though you have nothing to lose. If you are a good customer they may not want to lose you.

i had this happen last month i said that i wanted to pay but they insisted i payed the full amount including the £20 late charge after i had paid they said they would refund it to me which is what they did so you may have to pay first and then get the money back in the same call if you understand just point out that you always pay on time and with such a small bal why would you miss a payment
    good luck

I had that when I ordered a bed from Studio. A few times the statement went "missing" and I incurred a £20 charge but after a couple of times I started writing it on my calendar when to send them a cheque and it stopped. I think they do it on purpose.

Happened with me too. I rang up, insisted on being put through to the supervisor, kicked up a fuss, and they took it off.

same thing happened to me,studio told me that they had sent it,and questioned why i hadn't contacted them when it didn't arrive,as it was my first statement from them, i was able to point out that i wouldn't have known when payment was due, they did wipe the £20 "as a good will gesture" I cleared my balance and took my custom and hard earned cash elsewhere!
