Can I give my notice in and take my holiday during the period?

I want to hand my notice in as I am not happy and am finding it difficult to find time for interviews whilst still working. I want to hand my notice in on 2nd June so I finish on the 30th June, but I am going away on Holiday for 2 weeks inbetween that time. Does that still count towards my 4 week notice period or do I have to actually work the 4 week period?

If you are entitled to the holiday and your employer allows it you can do this.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

i have 8.6 days entitled to me and i'm taking 10, so i assume this is something i will have to discuss with her ?0

It is not unusual for an employee to leave having taken more than their accrued holidays, the overtaken holidays are simply deducted from the final salary payment.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

They may say that you can only take 8.6days holiday or they may just deduct the holidays you have taken above the entitlement from your final salary.0
