You are not the first to ask - but we are still waiting!
Mike - Did you sign a confidentiality agreement?:rolleyes:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

What do you wanna know !
Ill be honest, they were a great employer, I worked there for 7 years, they really really look after staff. Targets and rules are a stickler though... You are expected to hit targets, life does get difficult if you dont. I was a credit underwriter.. you even had a target for approvals... how on earth can you target that, if you have only crap applications then you cant approve them simple as that !0 -
Bah, I dont know... I left there 2 years ago now.0

It'd be nice to get a phone call from an Irish chap at MBNA just so I can ask if it's Dermot. I can then go on to say "oh yes, I've heard all about you!" and see what he does!
As it happens I usually talk to a lady who is actually very nice and helpful believe it or not. She's stopped all my interest on both my accounts for 12 months, refunded two lots of charges and reset my arrears. It was a bit of a slog because I think that they assume that you can pay and are just trying to dodge it, there are people who do that. If you demonstrate that you are genuinely having problems they seem to start to help. However, it's taken about 2 years of twice daily phone calls.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -

He calls me at 8.10am every few days, and I always reply in a chirrpy voice- "Dermot, You've caught me in the shower again you naughty boy, but I don't intend to speak to you today either. Please write to me instead!"
No wonder he keeps ringing you back!!!! :rotfl:Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -
I also receive the 8.00 am call from MBNA and many more until 8.30 pm including Sundays.
I have recently received the acceptance letter for my DMP repayment but this has not stopped the calls asking me if I can increase my payment for 'this month only'. They have now started ringing me from India ( MBNA credit collection) also. After 2 months of continuous calling I feel quite relaxed about telling a caller to 'sod off' :T as I know a totally new caller will ring me again in a couple of hours, as if nothing has ever happened.0 -
Dr Shoe and Lavender-
I've just had my payment plan accepted by MBNA after 6 months of hassle-they haven't reduced the charges or anything-did you ask for this or did the y just do it?
Thanks for your help,
