There's one thing I have learnt about Council Tax and that is never mess around with it. If you can pay it then pay it for your own sanity.

I'm not too sure of the rules concerning council tax but I have read that it is not as simple as non essential creditors.

Your wording suggests that possibly you could pay your council tax you just 'havent got round to paying it yet'. Please pay it if you can as I'm concerned you could be opening yourself up to a whole load of extra stress that you just don't need at the time of going bankrupt.

Agree with MicheH, you do need to pay it, I think it can only be included if you have had a demand for the whole amount or something like that..

    Best to pay it really.

oh god pay it if you can

this is something that is sending me crazy at the moment
we hadn't / couldn't pay it for months prior to my BR now I wish I hadn't eaten for months prior to BR

I've been BR 6 months and I'm still on the phone every week to the council trying to sort it

    Good luck

Have you had a demand for the whole year to be paid as you defaulted on monthly payments??

If so then as the full amount has been demanded now, then the whole years bill will go in BR. Mine did, however be carefull as council tax can be in joint names they will transfer the bill to your partner if they are named already on the paperwork.
