Contracted Hours

hi, just looking a bit of advice please,
i have a part time job (10.5 hours a week - perm contract) which i do alongside my full time job (9am / 5pm - Mon til Fri)
2 weeks ago the shift i was originally appointed to work was scrapped, so i have to do my hours at a different time,
last week i got 10 hours work (not the end of the world)
and this week so far, i only got 8.5 so far,
the problem is a lot of the shifts start before 5pm,
any one know where i stand?
thanks
