Say you have a basic account, do they report anything ?
What about a regular account ?
Basically, if you aren't borrowing, then are they reporting your bank account to the agencies these days ?

Some basic accounts do report to credit reference agencies. I think Barclays, LTSB, Co-op, Natwest/RBS, and Halifax does.
Regular accounts definately report to credit reference agencies.
I think they report to credit reference agencies about how you conduct your bank account.
I wouldn't worry about it.0 -
Current accounts report to the 3 main CRA.
They report on status, overdraft limit and balance (some banks).0 -
I'm not sure they should be reporting balances on the account or any credits or debits (monthly totals as an example) because that is truly privileged information.
As basic accounts cannot overdraw, there is no credit facility and thus no risk. With no risk, there should be no reason to report.
For those who you state do report, just where do you get your information from or do you have basic, not regular accounts at all these places and you can see them on your credit file ?
I will accept that they might, but I suspect they do not and if you have evidence to the contrary, I would be very thankful to hear about it.
Thanks for your comments so far.0
