Hi ,
I would like to know if anybody bought an Ikea basic kitchen, like this one :
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/kitchen/10470/
We are on a very tight budget and we'd like to do it ourselves with a bit a help to fit worktops and the sink.
We had a look at B&Q and Homebase and they seem to be similar but the price is double.
Thanks.

I have an Ikea kitchen as do other members of my family, the fitter said they were better than most, after he fitted it he bought one himself. The only fault he found was because there's no void at the back of the units they were a little more difficult to fit, the pipes needed to either on show inside the cupboards or chisseld into the wall, however 'cos of this you get bigger cupboards, so it's swings and roundabouts'Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Thanks for your replies. Does anybody knows how long it takes for them to deliver?0

If i remember right at the Warrington Ikea the delivery people were sub contracted and they were fairly quick in coming. When you make your purchase they give you a time.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I am on my second Ikea kitchen and think they offer outstanding value....I have the Abstrack white gloss and one little tip is not to buy the additional gloss end/side panels which takes a fair bit off the price ( the carcass is white anyway )
I actually got the whole of my kitchen into an estate car offered by a taxi firm based at the store, on previous occasions I have used a local 'man with a van' so I go, buy kitchen get it all delivered in one fell swoop.0 -
We're looking at the Harlig one, looks ok to us and with regards that we have one grand for the lot(cabinets, worktops, sink, tap) we hope it will be ok.0

We have had a stat kitchen in our old house and plan on putting a new one in the new house, We loved it, had solid wood worktop and ceramic sink (yes I am missing my old kitchen
) Just take care when fitting as Ikea are bad for leaving bits out and having wrong or damaged bits in, so just check it all over. Good luck 0 -
