Quidco - Am I getting the right end of the stick?

Hi all,
Hope this is in the right place. Have discovered Quidco site and got a quote for car insurance through Churchill. The quote is for £263, and I think I get £110 cash back if done through Quidco. The insurance costs £310 with my current company. Can it possibly be right that with the cash back I've only paid £153, less than half what I'm paying now? Or am I missing something?
Also, I applied for A&L a/c to get the cash (not through Quidco sadly, didnt know about it then, but noticed a few conditions on the Quidco site re this a/c, ie if you've been to the A&L site then go through Quidco you wont get anything as A&L will know you've already been to the site. Does this mean if I'm right about the insurance and decide to get it I need to go through to site on a different computer?
Hope this all makes sense, hope to get some help soon!
Thank you very much.

Yes, you will get £xxx back from Quidco in approx 2-3 months if you go via their website depending on what they are offering at the time. Where did you get the figure £110 as the website currently states £20 for cars ?
No you DO NOT need to use another computer, but it is advisable to clear your cookies on your computer prior to using the Quidco/Churchill website to remove any trace of previous visits and eliminate the chance of tracking problems.
Currently 94% of purchases track successfully.0 -
Hi, thanks for replying, i got the £110 by clicking finance on the left hand menu, then general insurance, then lloyds (sorry said churchill before) and then it broke screen down into different types of insurance, car saying £110 until 3rd sept - have i misinterpreted as it seems too good to be true at moment?0

OK, with Lloyds you will receive £110 cashback. As you mentioned, it is a limited time offer, usually pays out about £60-70 so it's quite an increase.
Their tracking rate is not very high though so bare this is mind. Having said that, tracking problems are usually resolved.
If it works out as the best deal overall then don't be frightened to use Quidco as many peole here including myself have saved hundreds, if not thoussands using them and actually profitted from them.
For info there are about a dozen other cashabck sites, but Quidco is rated as being one of the best, if not the best.0 -
Thank you. do you think its worth checking out some of the other cashback sites then? I was astounded at the £110 so pleased I've not got it wrong, but if i could get even more with someone else I'll look at that too. What about Rpoints, are they similar?#0

Rpoints are up there with the best of them, but cashback payouts are usually (not always) lower. Some people say their tracking reliability is higher, but you have to weigh that up against the cashback amount.0

Thanks, youve been very helpful, I'll check Rpoints tomorrow, off to bed now0

could you insure two seperate cars, both registered to the same person, and get £110 x 2?:j0

Exel, do you think I am likely to get a good deal from Quidco for travel insurance?. I have pre-existing medical conditions and the quotes have varied widely. I did have excellent cover with Help the Aged (awful name) for two years and the policy covered my heart but this year they say the underwriters have changed the goalposts. Their premium is very cheap but
will not cover my heart (mechanical valve and pacemaker).0 -
Toozie - I dont see why not but you can only use your no claims once0
-
toozie - i'd have a good read of the terms just to be sure, or call them then apply through quidco, as exel said clear your cookies first or you might not qualify if they know you've done it once0
