wedding dress fiasco

my daughter ordered her wedding dress in dec09 and it arrived three months later-we thought great-until she tried it on and we discovered that there was what looked like a scorch mark on the dress and there were black marks on the train. the assisstant told us that the marks were because the dress was made of raw silk , now i know that the material of raw silk can take on the appearance of having scag marks but this was approx10x12ins oblong shape. we said that we were not happy with the dress and that we would not accept it. we were told that we would have to e-mail the area manager as we could not talk to her or have a contact no so this my daughter did. my daughter stayed in contact with the shop and they ordered her a new dress which was delivered two weeks later, in all this time we never once had a reply from the area manager. having tried on the second dress we were happy that there were no marks on it and we paid the remaining balance and took the dress home but on taking the dress out and hanging it up my daughter noticed that the bones in the bodice were bending so she tried it on, realized it was not right and contacted the shop again and returned it. by now my daughter is getting quite upset and when the shop manager said the dress would be sent away agin to be fixed my daughter decided to ask for a refund as she was worried what else may go wrong. we were told that a refund could only be given by the area manager so my daughter once again e-mailed her and it was almost a week later that she had a reply saying that there was nothing wrong with the dress and sha could not have a refund. in the meantime we have found out that they have given the dress to a local dressmaker to put new bones in. HELP do any-one know what we can do?

How do you know the dress has been passed to a dressmaker, as that may be crucial information...?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Area manager? Who are the company? Take the issue to head office.
There can be minor irregularities of raw silk but not like the ones you have described.
I can imagine how soul destroying this must be for your daughter.0 -
we know a dressmaker was involved because the shop itself have told us that the bones have been changed in the dress even though they said there was nothing wrong with them, thanks for the suggestions and hopefully tomorrow we can get to speak to someone in citizen's advice too, what makes it worse is that the manageress in the shop appeared to be so helpful, even consoling my daughter and saying there was a real problem with the bones but now she's back-tracking and saying there was no problem(so why have they changed the bones). also the area manager have'nt once had the decency to speak to us only one e-mail in all these weeks- i would'nt call that good customer service would you?0
