child tax credits when college ends and uni starts

hi,
my son is 19 and fineshes college in july and child tax credits said i can claim for him til the end of august as he'll be going to uni. Does anyone know if this is correct as i don't wanna end up being overpaid by them again cos i've been given the wrong info.
Its so annoying that they can't change anything in advance so you know how your money will change.
I hope someones been thru the same situation and can advise me.

I'm quite certain that when my first son finished sixth form and was headed to university, I was paid up until the end of August, with lowered payments starting in September. I'm assuming thats how it will work this year too with next son headed to Uni.

thanks, its just i've been given wrong info by then before which cost me loads so i always worry now.

If I remember rightly ctc continue until cb finishes which would be end august,but it could be that ctc ends when he is 19,not quite sure

It definitely ends at end of August, I was told to phone them at that time. CB ends automatically but CTC doesn't so you have to ring them.
