Worried about getting kicked out of rented home...

Hello,
I live with my boyfriend in a rented house in the contract, it mentions that we can be turfed out if we/I go bankrupct or into an IVA, but it also mentions if the rent is in arrears (which it isnt) both our names are on the contract, not sure what to do?
Do I take my name off it? but then what do I put on my BR forms??
Eeeek, everything else is sorted, booked BR appointment in July & everything!

Speak to your landlord
If you have no rent arrears and been good tenents you should be fine
Its just a standard contract
But if you've been good to them - paid the rent every month kept the place Ok
they should be good to you
its better to have some in the house they can trust then it being emptyTotal Weight Loss - 28lb and countingAD 17/11/20100 -

Hello Sarah, I'd do what curly has said. Then at least you know where you stand. And cross the next bridge when you have too.
Best wishes

It is through a letting agent, do you think that will make a difference?

There is normally a bankruptcy clause in a tenancy agreement. It is there to protect the landlord so they dont have to allow you to carry on living there after 'writing off' £1000's worth of rent arrears in the BR
If your rent is up to date they will not evict you. Good tenants are hard to find. It does not matter if it is with a Agency, proably better that way! a sole landlord may be worried especially if he has no knowledge.
Be open with the Agency/landlord. You will be fine.
We have never evicted anyone because of BR at our agency.0 -

Yep! completly agree with NM.
Also make sure you say that you will have no debts to pay and have money allocated on your SOA that the OR approves for your rent so will never be in arrears as you are aware that the rent is a priority bill.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Honesty is always the best policy, at least you will have peace of mind once you have told them. Lets us know how you get on

Regardless of whether you are BR or not, I should imagine that landlords/agents are only interested in receiving their rent, so if you are up to date and continue to be so, I'd wouldn't worry too much.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

there was a clause in my contract, i spoke to the landlady and she wasn't interested in the br, providing i continued to pay my rent on time
