tax credits help line?

after searching google for a number for tax credits, i eventually came across a number and dialed from my mobile to inform them of a change of circumstances, today after checking my itemised phone bill it became apparent that i was charged over £2.00 for a 12 second call, turns out the number 09041611050 which i was led to for help about my tax credits is actually a premium d grade number that doesnt help you at all it only offers you an alternative number to phone :( surelly our goverment cant get away with charging us when we need there help

it was a website called customer services helpline or something along those lines

was this a bogus website or just our goverment ripping us off again?

and does anyone have the real num for tax credits preferably free or 0845 :j

The domain it leads to is http://www.customer-service-helplines.co.uk/4901.html nothing to do with the Govt.

    Its a rip off !!!

You must have missed this before posting

"Customer Service Helplines (UK) are an online company providing a Telephone Number Directory for "Hard to Find" Customer Service numbers.

Customer Service Helplines do not charge by the minute. Calling our service will cost you no more than £1.50 from a UK landline. Calls from mobiles may cost more.

By calling our lines we provide you with the company's Customer Service department telephone number via recorded message. The message repeats for as long as you are on the line, at no extra cost. The service is not charged by the minute.

Customer Service Helplines (UK) Ltd has no affiliation with any of the companies that we list and do not offer any similar services or products."
  • well now that ive been ripped hope that means by posting it on here less folk will get bumped in the future, and they were right they dont charge by the min, its even more than £1.50 a min cos £2.40 or whatever it was for 12 seconds is i think the most expensive phone call i've ever made, a well ive learnt my lesson and contacted the real hm tax people direct and it was FREE from a bt landline :j
