Timeshare Help Please

Anyone got any advice to help me with a dreaded timeshare.

I have inherited a Timeshare from my mum, it of very little use to me and my family and I want to get rid of it; but don't know how. When I telephone the Timeshare company my mother bought it from (based in the Isle of Mann) they tell me I cannot abandone it, it is like owning your house, you are contractually obliged to carry on paying for the services etc.

Does anyone have with any experience of this, or knows how I could get out of the contract?

It would appear to have very little second-hand value (£300), and be difficult to sell. I have considered just giving it to anyone who thinks they could get some use out of it, or would like to exchange it in the RCI scheme.

    Thanks Tam,

I'm going to look in to it properly in a few weeks (got an exam deadline to meet in the meantime). I think I will talk to the Office of Fair Trading, I also will talk to the Consumer Association legal helpline as we subscripe to the magazine - they may be able to help.

    I'll keep you posted.
