What's the next step??

I have started on a DMP with CCCS and have made my first payment to them this month. As i understand it, they pay my creditors around 25th of each month.

My problem is that some creditors have written back to me saying they have frozen the interest and will not add any more charges. However, some seem to have completely ignored me and CCCS and I am getting statements with added interested and late charges equalling more than what CCCS will be paying them. The ones that seem to have done this is Tesco, Mint and Post Office.

I think I read somehwere that you have to default so many time before they will consider freezing interest and the cards above, I didn't miss a payment on until now.

Can you advise what I should do now i.e. do I write to them asking them again to freeze the interest or do I wait and see what happens? and is there any letter tmeplates anywhere for this?

Thanks in advance?

It might be just that they haven't yet processed the information from CCCS. Some do take a month or 2 to settle down. And you are right some won't freeze interest until you have officially defaulted and been sent a default notice, which may take 2-3months. Its frustrating when you can see your debt increasing.

If after a month they still haven't agreed to freeze interest then its worth writing again to ask and try to reason with them.

Sometimes some creditors never agree to freeze interest and the debt does continue to increase until either the debt is sold on or until your other debts are paid off and you can offer to pay them more.

    Good luck with your DMP
