Also, which handset should net the highest sell on figure on eBay? :rotfl:

  • I would recommend the HTC HD2. I'd get the heck away from O2 though!

Both myself and a friend had until recently been long term O2 customers. We were coming to the end of our contracts and called o2 to see what they could offer us. They now have no customer loyality policy as they wouldn’t move on the phone cost or the tariff. We’d previously 18 months ago got a great deal in my opinion were we had 600 Mins 1000 Texts and unlimited internet, with a free HTC Touch Diamond for £20 a month. They now that I wanted a HTC HD2 said it would have to be £35 a month for 24 months to get the phone free, which would be 900 mins and 500 texts with unlimited internet. I said I didn’t need that many mins and didn’t want to pay that much. I commented that id seen a deal through carphonewarehouse.co.uk that was a better deal than they were offering. I then said I would leave to go to t-mobile as through mobilephonesdirect I could get a better deal. They basically turned round and said ok if you want to. So im now on a 18mth contract paying £30 for 600mins 500 text and unlimited internet. It would have been £25 if I’d wanted a 24mth contract.

I also remember my mum getting a text message saying something along the lines of ‘ we are removing all rewards when you upgrade your PAYG phone’. so be sure to check out all websites before agreeing a new contract!

So are you looking to actually use the handset or just sell it?

It's unlikely you'll get any useful answers unless you provide more information.

Are you looking for the highest value handset to sell or something to use? If you're going to keep it, what features are most important to you?

it's hard for me to answer at the minute as DH is at work, but if I was to guess - the highest value handset to sell on. Recommendations based on this would be really helpful. Thanks.

unashamed bump - could really use some recommendations. Someone at work mentioned the HTC Desire?

You are not getting any answers because you aren't giving any information! How much are you willing to spend per month or as a one off to get the most desirable handset? iPhone 3GS sells well but there will probably be fairly hefty outlay for example. Which handsets are available to you with O2? clearly they do not offer every handset currently in production: if we had a short list it would be easier to advise. Have you considered running a search on eBay (past listings) to see what is selling at what price?

The answer is not universal, you have to know what you want most from your device, ok they are all mobile phones, but some carry cameras, music players organiser, web access, gps etc etc, it's what features are more suited to you, saying that the htc LEGEND/DESIRE is worth a look :D

Hi, we don't want to have to pay any initial outlay for a handset and tariff in the region of £30 - £35 per month.

If you are purely asking for the best handset out at the moment then it is the HTC Desire (IMHO)

Which handset could you sell for most on ebay, probably the iPhone but it will cost you more to get on a contract.

There are far too many variables to give a straight answer.
