Vauxhall Vectra Driver Information Display Screen Problem!

Hi

My husband has a 53 Reg vauxhall Vectra and is having problems with the central driver display screen and I was wondering if anyone could help!

The screen has completely gone off and will only return if you disconnect and reconnect the battery. The problem is that when it returns the electric windows and radio then do not work and the display screen only works for a day or so and then goes off again. He has had this reset twice now at the garage which did last for a week or so but still the problem continues - Any ideas? Thanks :)

I have no idea what it is, but a friend of mine has a company car 57 plate and his is working intermittently, and the local VX dealer has admitted it's a common problem on them.

That doesn't cut any ice with my friend, as he works on highways as a site agent laying blacktop and uses the temp gauge as a guide as to whether to lay it or call the job off during cold spells.

It's not the fact that he can't get it replaced, it's the fact the leasing company don't see it as a safety issue and therefore won't repair/replace it.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

Thanks for the reply - The bloke at the local garage who reset it did say he thinks it may be a common problem but we didnt know if he was just saying that cause he didnt know what to try next after it had already been back 3 times! lol - The Vauxhall Dealer wants £85 to look at it :( lbut it looks like it may be going there!
