BR 31/3/10, can i touch any money that is in my old bank??

We went BR last weds, I had opened a new bank account ready but I had so much on my mind I forgot to change the payments for my benefits. I rang them last week but it was too short notice so now my benefits have been paid in and I need the money, am I allowed to draw them out or not?? My old account is still open....

    Hi horseypony

Same thing happened to me a week after BR.

I phoned the OR and explained what had happened and he gave me permission to withdraw the funds.

I think its best to ring the OR first rather than just withdraw it as on going BR you had signed all accounts over to them. Will give you peace of mind hopefully.

Have to agree with Angie, just give your OR a call, and tell them what has happened.
