Transferring JSA/Housing Benefit

Hi people

I am having a lot of problems with one of my housemates and my landlord may place me in another one of his properties so I can escape. How difficult would it be to transfer my JSA and Housing Benefit to a new address?

I live in London so I know that the implications would be different if I moved into another borough as I would have to set up 'new' claims. If I moved within the same borough I presume that I could just change my address at the job centre and carry on as usual, but Housing Benefit would be more difficult as they would have to re-asses my claim due to a new property/room and most likely a slightly different rent.

Anybody have any ideas? Ideally I would just put up and shut up, but my housemate is such an evil person and I feel like if she carries on I'll do something I regret! It's really starting to affect my mental stability and health.

I've had four interviews over the past two weeks and another one next week, so I'm hoping that I get a job soon and could move out and not have to worry...just looking at all my options.

If you come under the same Jobcentre then yes its just a change of address, with regards the HB is it actually HB or is Local Housing Allowance? Either way it should be pretty easy to change it over to a new address with the same landlord but if its a different council you would have to do a new applicatiom, i would imagine its quite straight forward.

A change of address form is needed in my local authority. That with evidence of your new rent would be all that was needed.
Just be aware that if you move, you will get the LHA rate in force for the relevant accomodation in the month that you claim
I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
