Car Accident liability - HELP

Hi, hoping for some advice. A few weeks ago I had a prang in the staff carpark at work. I was parked in a bay front facing, got into my car, started engine, noticed a car to the right of me in the right hand lane but facing away from me (so esentially on the wrong side of the road). Anyway, she wasn't moving, just sitting there, so I reversed out of my space. No sooner had I got out of the space and I put my car in first gear to drive forward and right, I notice (as I am looking in that direction) theat she put her reversing lights on and starts reversing. Knowing I can't make it out of the way in time as to get back into the space I would need to turn my wheels back to the left, and I wouldn't be able to go forward without a 3 point turn I started beeping. Anyway, still not paying attention she reverses into the side of me. She apologises, we swap details, I ask if there is any damage to her car, she says haven't even looked, I only have myself to blame therefore essentially admitting liability.

Now, her insurance company is disputing liability. How is this possible? Am I at fault?? Below is a rather dodgy diagram lol

I have legal protection, so if my insurance company won't fight it, I will do it privately

OK, Diagram didn't quite work, if any clarification needed just ask, she was essentially about 4 parking bays width distance from me, on my right

Not really any help, but i would use google maps, and paint to draw a picture of what happened, then sent that by email if you can to the claims handler.

Its up to them to decide if to defend the case, or to just admit 50/50 liabilty where each side fixes there own car.

Its up to you to prove that you were not at fault, or they will just settle 50/50 as its easier.

50/50 is not a case of each side fixing their own car, it is the total costs are split 50/50.

The now defunct "knock for knock" was each side fixed their own car but it was unfair on the larger insurers and the insurers who only offer tpf&t were being subsidised by the comprehensive market
