Velux Blinds

Is there another company who makes these or are they exclusive to velux?

I have looked everywhere with no success..and the cheapest velux ones I can find for our two smallish windows are £130 each..argh!

Many thanks.

There are other companies out there but not many. Try doing a search for velux on ebay. These usually appear as "not velux" so appear in the search.

I bought three blinds from a link advertised in Homes & Gardens - https://www.itzala.net - saved me about 30%.

Delivery was a little long but worth the wait, coz they're really good quality!

  • They are expensive, I tried Thomas Sanderson, John Lewis and Hilarys Blinds and Hilarys came out cheapest

Starlite - please look at this website, they're called Vale Blinds and they supplied us with our Velux (original no less) blind at a much lower rate than John Lewis and co. They delivered as stated (I think it was ten working days or so) and we're very happy with it.

The only difference in ordering from them was I couldn't take it away, oh, and of course, we SAVED MONEY

Try emailing kirstiescardsandcrafts@yahoo.com, I brought a load of Velux (electric remote controle) original blinds from her, and they were much cheaper that elsewhere.

    She was selling on Ebay.
  • I'm in a rented property at the moment and was going to buy a velux blind for about £35. Then I decided to have a go at making my own. The thing is, as the house is rented, I can't put any screws etc into the walls.

I used a panel of fabric same size as the window and hemmed the sides and top. I then sewed 5 ties onto the top so the blind can be tied to the steel bar on the window.

I found and old tension rod (available at curtain stores for under a fiver) and made a pocket across the bottom of the blind big enough to feed the rod through. Then just tie the blind on to the steel bar and use the tension rod to either hold the blind closed or open at the window. Looks nice and cost nothing!

Bought from there too, genuine velux blinds at a great price.
