Bank Account question

Ok

Im going to open up a co-op cashminder as recomended by many. My biggest concerns are when to open this as I have DD's that will need to be paid and I will need access to my wages for day to day living etc.

The advice seems to be open up just after br but then I read it could take 2-3 weeks to get cash card through etc. If I wait how do I get my dd's paid ? how do I get access to cash to live petrol food etc ?

Also if I wait until br day to open an account what do I do with any surplus cash in my A&L account (wont be a creditor) assuming its mid month I will have cash in there I will ned to live on until next payday so can I just draw it out and essentailly have cash in my hopuse instead of bank account ?

I opened mine 3 months before BR, that way I had everything going in and coming out smoothly and did not have to worry about it.

theres no way it would end up frozen if I did it this way ? I know I can tell the OR this is my account for wages and bills etc but I just dread being left with my wages frozen bills unpaid wouldnt be a good way to start again.

As long it is the cashminder, and you have not got thousands in there, you will be fine, as long as you are not in Brighton. :)

thousands I wish, will be my wage minus any bills and spending to that date. Makes sence to sort the account now and get it set up prior to br so things can run smoothly.

Why Brighton ? im not there but wonder all the same ?

The OR in Brighton closes the account and makes you open a new one. They are the only ones to do it!
