My first ever Credit Card - Options?

Hi folks,
I've been looking around for what the best choice is for a credit card to get me started. Unfortunately I haven't a clue what to go for.
I've never had a credit card before and just want one for minor purchases in order to build myself a good credit rating for the future.

Unfortunately this seems to be a bit of a catch 22 situation in that teh cards I have looked at are unavailable to anyone with no existing credit rating, good or bad.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

i think your bank is the best choose, but if all fails go for a sygma silver card they seem to be taking on anyone..
  • Hi there, I was in a similar position myself had no credit cards was accepted for the Barclaycard Initial £400 limit in Jan, applied for the Flybe Mastercard last week and accepted with a £2000 limit

My advice Barclaycard do a pre-application checker give that a go as it leaves a soft-search?

That is not true - it is easier to get a subprime card than one of these.
